Lisa Nelson – Formally trained in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Lisa was introduced to wedding planning while studying for her PhD at Brown University.  She was extremely unhappy and needed a creative outlet, so she interned with a wedding planner based in Maine.  In 2002 she went on her own planning and coordinating weddings for free throughout New England.  Upon moving to Maryland in 2003, she has the pleasure to have worked with number lovely couples throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Kansas City, Minneapolis and beyond.  After successfully receiving her degree, she hung up her lab coat and has not looked back!  She received her wedding planning and coordination certification from Weddings Beautiful International, in 2007.

Proud to be a Wedding Planner and Designer in Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia – Lisa is Simple in her style.  She loves thinking outside the box, and utilizes small details to make extraordinary statements.  She specializes in home weddings, but has planned an array of events in a variety of venues from hotels to historic houses.  She is also well versed in ethnic traditions, including; African, Korean, Persian and Jewish just to name a few.  She has worked with couples from different economic and social backgrounds, has experience and loves working with same sex couples, and enjoys working with a broad range of clientele!

When she’s not planning fabulous weddings, she shuttles her two children back and forth to school, play dates and various activities!
