A DC Extravaganza
The Bride came to us a month prior to her wedding with her invitations in hand. She asked us for help. She booked the site but did not have anything else in place. There were four things that were most important to her…one, to have her ceremony and reception in her childhood church, two, a beautiful and personalized bouquet, three, an ice sculpture, and four, a unique and fabulous cake. Her theme was swans and jewelry and her colors were blue and yellow. The next four weeks were filled with activity. We incorporated her swan and jewelry theme and color scheme into an event that would impress even her most discerning guest. Her intimate Baptist ceremony was adorned with large arrangements consisting of blue, yellow, and white. We worked with the cake designer to create a multi-leveled cake in blue and yellow, which incorporated intricately detailed swans around each one of the tiers with bursts of jewelry irradiating from the center. Her ice sculpture consisted of two swans with blue and yellow roses, mums and hydrangea pouring from the center. Her intricately designed bouquet had bits of jewelry and was made of Hydrangea, mini callas and roses. Her color scheme flowed elegantly throughout the reception. We carefully tied each of her 300 chairs with blue organza bows. Her guest tables, draped in white, were adorned with floral arrangements which sported shades of blue and yellow! Her upscale station tables, draped in blue, surrounded the perimeter of the room…allowing her 300 guests to move freely between the stations. Background music, fondue stations and a caricature artist entertained guests the entire evening.
