The Meeting of the Minds and Body
It was my pleasure to plan the wedding between two Prince Georges (PG) County residents, the Bride, a New York Medical School student, and the Groom, a PG County Physical Therapist. The couple wanted to treat their 160 guests to a classy affair in the PG county area. The Grooms childhood church and a chic club set the stage for the ceremony and reception, respectively. Celadon was the color of the evening. The classic bouquets boasted tinges of celadon and blue hydrangea and dark pink calla lilies. During the ceremony, the Bride, an accomplished singer, serenaded the Groom, as guests watched. After the hour long ceremony, the guests were treated to an abundance of hors d’oeuvres and beverages in a bistro type atmosphere consisting of high-top tables and comfortable couches. The stylish, dark ballroom was filled with a mix of square and round tables with ivory floor length linens and chiavari chairs, giving the room a sense of texture and style. The masterfully placed centerpieces lit-up the room elegantly, each centerpiece simply consisting of pillar and votive candles, each surrounded by blue and celadon petals. The night began with a slide show showcasing the childhood pictures of the Bride and Groom. The festivities were enhanced by a ritual performed by the Bride’s sorority sisters, and concluded quietly with an intimate dance between the Bride and Groom.
