Okay, I know this wedding happened a few weeks ago.  Okay, okay.  When I saw the episode, I didn’t think much of it.  I mean, it’s a same sex wedding.  So what?  It’s everyday life here.

I mean, they looked amazing in their designer gowns.  I love the subtle hair jewelry accent as I love small accents in the hair – flowers, Jewelry, an elegant cage veil (Read strong plug for hair jewelry, floral accents or a cage veil) over the traditional veil.

It’s only today that I thought a bit deeper on the subject – and not particularly on the wedding itself – the whole entirety of the show.  I think this is the first time that any mainstream show has featured same sex couples in main rolls – and given them drama.  Drama is typical for heterosexual couples, we saw it between Derek and Meredith (to the upteenth degree).  We also saw it between Arizona and Callie (almost to the upteenth degree).  I think it’s the first time they  represented same sex couples as real couples with real drama.

Hooray for drama!  Bout time!

And in Grey’s Anatomy?  Go figure.  I know I am not supposed to have strong opinions, but the acting has a bit to be desired, no?  Well, now I am realizing that they made a powerful statement, so I guess that’s reason to tune in (read – grin and bare it) one more week, yes?

I don’t know.

But to answer the question at the end of the article – what side to the guests sit on.  Here are two answers.

1.  Now a-days, couples are choosing to forgo sides.  Make it easy

2.  Have a little for thought.  If it’s important to the couple to have guests sit on particular sides, figure out the processional and what side each person will stand on (before the rehearsal).  Then, the program handlers or greeters can tell guests which side to sit on.  Guests always ask.

They had a bountiful fall harvest theme of browns, golds, deep reds and oranges.  They wanted a ceremony and reception that didn’t scream “wedding” and incorporated one of the Bride’s Indian Heritage.

We worked with LaPrima Catering to create a station menu that was out of this world good!  It consisted of an Indian station, Mexican dip station with this wonderful guacamole and corn salsa (YUM) and a fabulous dessert display.

The Reason for Marriage is Procreation?  Really?

My thought process is not at all complicated.  It’s pretty darn right simple in fact.  I don’t think it’s difficult to follow what I’m saying.  I try to pretty much come out and say things.  I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I love weddings.  There is not secret about that.

What are weddings about?

To me, they are about celebrating the love that two people share.  Two people who want to spend their entire life together – forsaking all others – and why shouldn’t that be celebrated?  Does it matter whether it’s between two women, two men, or a man and a women?  Hell no – because the feelings are the same.  I’ve seen it first hand – and it’s beautiful.

Love is love.

When I read these articles, I’m never sure of them.  They never said how many times they did the poll, how many people were polled, who was polled (demographics), etc.  However, I do think the generalizations are good.  Generally, more people than last year are supporting same sex marriage.  I think this is important for the LGBT community.

Actually, I’m not sure why anybody really cares.  I have worked with many same sex couples and they are just as loving and wonderful to work with as my heterosexual couples.  That’s a good thing, no?  Starting a family with the ones you love is what it’s all about.

Of course, for every positive article on the subject, I am sure that there are 5 articles supporting the other view.  There always is – but that’s okay too.
